FTP-Functional Threshold Power

FTP is a very important metric for endurance athletes. It helps set up training and racing ranges. It helps identify when an athlete improves. It helps show year-to-year progression. .

Training FTP isn’t as easy as it’s made out to be. As athletes progress in their careers, the ability to see the improvements we saw when starting out becomes more difficult. The training, intervals, and progressions need to become more accurate. INSCYD testing helps us identify which “knobs” to turn to see growth in your FTP.

Fueling is critical for success

Too many times as a coach, friend, student of the sport I’ve witnessed the same mistake from athletes. They train hard, they dedicate so much time, passion, and energy towards their BIG race to only fall short because of a nutrition error. Too many or too few calories, carbs, sodium, and liquid. Too little or too much sodium. Hot or cold weather races? All of these things can be calculated

How many calories do you burn at 75% FTP? How many grams of Carbs do you burn at 70% FTP? We can get an accurate count to develop a fueling plan.

What type of athlete are you?

Once you complete the INSCYD testing (Zwift and TrainerRoad options) which consists of 4 different interval lengths. We then get a blueprint of your strengths and weakness and knowing which “knob to turn" to see the biggest improvements.

Since testing my athletes, this has been a game-changer for seeing results quicker and improving race performances, especially IRONMAN and 70.3 performances.
